
A Legacy of Sisterhood
Gamma Phi Delta Sorority, Inc. was founded in February 1943 at the Lewis Business College (Lewis College of Business) in Detroit, Michigan, by Mrs. Elizabeth Garner, an instructor at the College, assisted by her sister, Mrs. Violet T. Lewis, owner and President of the College.
The Quad States Region was established in 1968 and consists of the following states: Arkansas, Oklahoma, Texas, and Louisiana.
Quad States Region of Gamma Phi Delta Sorority, Inc. was formed in 1971 by Soror Thelma Goroan, who was a member of the Beta Iota chapter in Houston, Texas. Soror Gordan served as the Regional Director of the Quad States Region from 1971-1972 and again from 1983-1985.
Since the inception of the Quad States Region of Gamma Phi Delta Sorority, Inc., we have been blessed to be led by 14 Regional Directors. Several sorors have served as Regional Director multiple times.
From 1971 to the present, the Quad States Region has formed 15 chapters. The current active chapters are listed below.
